CAPTAIN DOMINGO E. LEONOR

(1885 – 1976)

Born to a poor family in Taal, Batangas in August 2, 1885, Captain Domingo E. Leonor is the first Filipino Provincial Commander of Davao from 1927 – 1931.

June 1, 2010 at around 1:30 PM, DCPO personnel led by PSSUPT RENE OBILLOS ASPERA, ACD DCPO, attended/participated the 8th Anniversary Of The Smoke - Free Davao Campaign “ For A Healthy Davao City” which was held at Rizal Park San Pedro Street, Davao City. Which was initiated by the Department of Health and it was also participated by different GO’s, NGO’s and Academe as part of the advocacy campaign to have a healthy living.

DCPO ADJUDGED AS THE MODEL CITY POLICE OFFICE

FOR YEAR 2009

January 29, 2010, Plaque of Merit is presented to Davao City Police Office during the 19^th PNP Anniversary Celebration held in National Headquarters, Camp Crame, Quezon City for having been adjudged as the Model City Police Office for the Year 2009 for its outstanding transformation initiatives and performance in police administration and operations in the line with the PNP Integrated Transformation Program, thereby contributing immensely to the attainment of the overall vision and mission of the Philippine National Police.

	Davao Profile
	Davao City is one of the most competitive and highly urbanized cities in the country. Situated in the southeastern part of Mindanao, it is bounded on the north by province of Davao del Norte, on the south by the province of Davao del Sur, on the west by Bukidnon, and on the east by the Davao Gulf. It has a land area of 2,444 sq km and considered to be the largest city in the world in term of land area and a population of 1.6M. The City has been divided into three political (Congressional) Districts: 1st District composed of Poblacion and Talomo; 2nd District composed of Buhangin, Bunawan, Agdao and Paquibato; and 3rd District composed of Baguio, Calinan, Marilog, Toril and Tugbok. The city has 183 barangays with Brgy 76-A in Talomo District as the largest in terms of population.
	Davao City Police Office is the former Davao del Sur Constabulary Command of the undivided Davao province and was later renamed as Metropolitan District Command on May 24, 1980 pursuant to GO # 69 of the then PC/INP Regional Command XI. At present, it has a total of 1,241 uniformed personnel and 32 NUPs. It has one Mobile Patrol Group, two City Mobile Group, Traffic Group, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and twelve Police Stations.
